Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Bathroom Scales - The Future of Cutting Down on Cakes
We’re living in a present where everything seems to be able to connect to the Internet, and while we’re patiently waiting for a Wi-Fi enabled toothbrush we can now look down at our bathroom scales with the knowledge that our weight is being turned into little bits of virtual data and transported across the world. If you like the sound of that then you may be willing to pay £99 for the Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale.
There is a growing trend for technology that tracks every aspect of our fitness lives. With our busy lives it’s a wonder we even get to exercise, let alone try and keep track of any effects it might be having. These scales are supposed to help you lose weight easier by showing you the results of your ban on cakes over time, sending the data from the digitally displayed read-out to a website profile with a swish looking graph. Seeing your progress on this graph is supposed to give you a positive boost, and I do not doubt that it will. In my goal to lose weight I know that I need all the help I can get, although I'm not sure I'm willing to part with the cash for such an expensive piece of flashy technology; there’s always the good old pen and paper at the end of the day.
Still, if you have the money and you want the convenience of seeing your weight loss displayed in all its on-screen glory then these scales aren't a bad purchase. It tracks your weight, body fat percentage and BMI. Don’t worry though, you profile can be set to private so you don’t have to share your embarrassing weight gain with the rest of the world. It’s white or black minimalist look should also fit perfectly into the majority of bathroom designs, just remember to stand on them regularly if you’re trying to lose weight or you’ll have just defeated the whole object of them (and make sure the family knows they can use them as well, as it can track up to 8 people).
Check out this review by The Telegraph for a user’s opinion on it. It will all be worth it in the end when you’re admiring yourself in one of our bathroom mirrors.
